The Spring Season starts tomorrow, and for Floridians, we know that means it's the start of Summer-like weather, which is much needed after our freezing cold winter (just kidding). Summer weather in Florida can only mean one thing: beaches! Here are some of the most popular beaches for both tourists and locals near Orlando.
First up is Cocoa Beach. This family friendly beach is close enough to Cape Canaveral that you can view space shuttles taking off right from the beach. The waves are exactly what surfers are looking for, and the Canaveral Pier is a great hangout for those wanting to hang out or watch the surfer's in action.
Daytona Beach is the most visited beach in Central Florida, and for good reason. There are endless amounts of activities for those of all ages. With activities such as a boardwalk with endless shops, a pier, attractions, parasailing, snorkeling and banana boats, there is something fun for everyone at this historic beach.
Canaveral National Seashore is much different than Cocoa or Daytona. This natural preserved stretch of beaches does not have the entertainment, but rather a purely beautiful beach, unharmed by construction. It is a great place to relax and fish, but if you are looking for the entertainment options of a beach, this is not for you.
Clearwater Beach has beautiful, powdery sand and some of the best sunsets you'll ever see. There are places to rent boats, jet skis, dolphin cruises and parasailing trips. Clearwater is also located on the Gulf of Mexico, so the water tends to be warmer than the others.
