Holiday traditions are customs that are usually celebrated within a family annually. These traditions are normally passed down from generation to generation and give off a feeling of holiday cheer.
Every Thanksgiving, I was in charge of helping my mother make apple crisp. We would prepare all of the ingredients and then my whole family would watch the Macy's Day parade while it was cooking in the oven. Later, we would head to my grandmother's house and quite literally eat everything in sight and then some. The men would watch football, others played card games and the kids would play. The best part was always the sandwiches made with leftover turkey later in the evening.
Decorating the tree would take place after Thanksgiving, where we would reminisce on old hand-made ornaments, drink hot chocolate and listen to Christmas music. No matter what the traditions are, it's always heartfelt to spend quality time with family doing things together.
